A quarter of a million species fill the world’s sprawling oceans, which cover more than two-thirds of the planet. As many as two million species are believed to lie undiscovered.

So we are supposed to learn about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered fish, the LGBT spectrum applies to marine life??? Who knew????
When we go out to seafood restaurants, can we request a lesbian fish, so as to make a political statement?

Nature does not like diversity. If you are a termite and enter a ant colony you will be killed. If you are an antelope and enter a lion’s den you will be eaten. Animals in nature hang around with their own kind.
And the fish are still not queers.

Indeed. The fallacy here is not only seeking to use the animal world as a model for humans, but treating all species of fish as analogous to mankind, and the two are contradictory. For perverse aberrations within a species can get one killed.
Are they trying to get us to talk about fish sticks? If you like fish sticks does that make you a gay fish?
