I can understand the CDC’s statements at this time, but give it a couple of days.

If they are not in full fledged preparation at this very moment for what an uncontrolled outbreak in the US would require of them, then I DO have a problem with that.

My wife is on chemo. Her 97 year old mom is in the hospital. So, we’ve been using masks when we go to the hospital or nursing home. I went to buy some Saturday at the local CVS. We got the last two boxes of 10 ea.

Usually there was a supply of five or six boxes on the counter.

No the lancet did state numbers. morality rate of 41 confirmed cases at the time of this initial study there were 6 fatalities - 14.6%

btw - read. I stated as high as 83%. Clearly the massive quarantine of some 63 million indicates that the govt had serious concerns on transmission and these early results may have contributed to that concern.

That’s not how it works, death rates are total number of cases / deaths. The Flu is based on an estimate on how many people actually caught the flu vs how many died. You don’t calculate the death rate on how many showed up to the hospital / how many died.

That’s a subset of those who were sickened.

It’s a bogus number.

not according to the lancet report. they were all later confirmed with the new virus. Pneumonia is one of the developments/symptoms of this virus.
