According to the ADSB transponder data he was following the 101 Fwy to Thousand Oaks. Then suddenly turned and dropped rapidly. Last data point shows he was dropping at 4,000 FPM which is pretty extreme...
Cried like a baby when it happened, he was my favorite ballplayer then.
Im not a pilot. Just my observation and casual knowledge of how helicopters fly.
Very sad, prayers to them and their families.
Here you go douchebag. Watch this. THIS is the guy you want to take a knee for.

Kobe Bryant unabashedly loved his country.
Common Sense! However often Star Power often appears to override that I think.
LACS briefing says visibility may have contributed. Low cloud/fog.
What is the most probable given the heavy low fog?
Swiped a tree, cellphone tower, powerline, mountainside?
Hear something weird on the radio, copter was circleing, then was following the freeways, then began a rapid and steep ascent, before falling out of the sky
Listened to a guy on “skud-running”, where a Helicopter pilot tries to out run fast changing weather.....
that is not true video of the Kobe Bryant crash...look at the terrain in the video...crashing in a valley- the landscape is wrong and so is the language.
This guy ‘Blanco Liros’ explains what he believes happened.....Apparently the go to guy for aviators....It’s said...”The place to go to get a straight Forward report”....

I asked the same question of the original youtube poster, shortly thereafter “comments are disabled for this video”.
Lying sack of ####
If the aircraft was spinning, then it apparently lost control of it’s tail rotor. The TR counters the direction of spin imparted by the main rotor blades so that the aircraft can fly straight.
Sarah Chester and her middle school daughter Peyton were killed in the crash yesterday. The pilot was identified as 50 year old Ava Zobayen.
The pilot was Ara. Instrument rated.
DATS what I’m talkin’ about!!!! May I borrow ur pic?
The video shows the helicopter on fire as it tumbles end over end to the ground. That indicates a major malfunction causing fuel to be ignited. A broken fuel line? A tail rotor blade breaking off and hitting something to ignite the fire?
Last week two truck drivers were killed in a crash caused by a 28 yo woman going the wrong way in Suwanee GA last week She was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle, failure to maintain a lane, and driving too fast. The truckers were just as important to their families as KB was to his, but you don't see endless tweets and news stories about them. Like I said it's all sad.
A comment to the video says it is from another crash in 2019. This is not the Kobe crash video.
Watched the video of his theory and it makes sense but does not match at all with the crash video that was circulating last night. Someone posted the crash video earlier in this thread. Now I’m wondering if the crash video is the same accident.
That is the only thing that makes sense. Weird thing is that video does look like a Sikorsky chopper. The video shows no fog or anything so it must not have been the same crash.
Exactly right. Everyone is special to someone. Just some are more newsworthy.
