I had to look NOKD up. What a “preppy” is now is different from what it was in the 1940s or 1950s. Less of the old upper classes. More upper middle class careerists and strivers upwards. Mark Zuckerberg wouldn’t have passed for a preppy fifty years ago. Now he is one.

I don’t think the RF saw them as deep staters or if they’re even aware what that is. I think they just saw them as PR who worked for another famous person.
