If this was the case, why aren’t there outbreaks everyday?
Depends if the virus mutates & jumps from animals to humans. Sometimes it does and other times it does not.
Because (IF it is the bats) the bats have previously not been carriers. Fleas were the carriers of bubonic plague but fleas of course existed before and after the bubonic plague pandemics.
