A recent outbreak in China of a new strand of coronavirus may be linked to an objectively disgusting Chinese delicacy called bat soup, according to reports. Video footage online shows an entire cooked, dead bat sitting in soup. Scientists believe that the virus, which has killed 17 and infected over 640 people, could have spread from snakes or bats. Is this bat soup the cause of the quickly-spreading virus?

Those crazy mfs will eat anything.
I’ve never had anything more exotic than smoked Florida alligator in a can that my 82nd Airborne buddy ordered from Sportsman’s Warehouse decades ago. But he had tried squirrel and raccoon. According to him, it tastes pretty much like pork or chicken except a bit stringier, depending on how you cook it. It’s a mammal, so I can’t believe it’s particularly exotic-tasting. For real exoticism, you have to go to the Nordic regions, where the following fermented (a nice way of saying rotted) specialties are consumed:

Small town in Northern California. Chinese restaurant opens, smack dab in between a bait shop and a pet store.
They only lasted a week or two.
Location, location, location.

Ive got one better, not making this up, I saw it in person, didnt go in though. It was in small strip mall in Rosedale, MD, just outside of Baltimore.
A Chinese restaurant named Lung Wah located between a veterinary clinic on one side and a taxidermy shop on the other.

No, I havent.
Of course Ive sucked the heads of mudbugs.
Ive done the squirrel brains and scrambled eggs thing.
Usually I make a squirrel barley soup or fry them a bit before simmering them with wild mushrooms and making it a sauce for going over wild rice.
I dont personally know any prep methods and recipes that create a suckable squirrel head.

Had a co worker when I was in the oil field who was known to bring squirrel heads along.
We didn't hang near him when he was eating.
