I tried to make a Plott Hound pup in to a house dog once. In that setting it was the dumbest animal I’ve ever seen. Or maybe I was the dumb one for trying.
used to run star mountain plott line in southern California for bear but mostly coon and other stuff so very long ago. To old to run hounds in these deep draws of the ozarks we run blackmouth and mountain curs. the kind of dog that stops hunting when you stop to take a nap and lays down next to you to nap with you kinda of dog. tried to teach them to start a fire. they have trouble with the lighter... have to use hand warmers instead
