Chesley Sullenberger, the pilot who performed the “Miracle on the Hudson”, has told Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump to “grow up” and “show some decency”, after she mocked Joe Biden for stuttering.
Biden, a frontrunner for the Democratic nomination to face President Trump in November, has spoken openly about his lifelong experiences with a stutter.
Lara Trump, who is married to the president’s second son Eric, works for the Trump re-election campaign and spoke in that capacity at an event in Iowa on Friday, the day after the seventh Democratic debate.
“I feel kind of sad for Biden,” she said. “And you know that’s when it’s not going well for him, right, because I’m supposed to want him to fail at every turn. But every time he comes onstage or they turn to him, I’m like, ‘Joe, can you get it out? Let’s get the words out, Joe.’”
Trump is not the first prominent supporter of her father-in-law to face criticism for mocking Biden’s stutter: Fox News has aired montages of his stuttering on the debate stage and former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders deleted a mocking tweet in December.
Nonetheless, on Friday Trump criticised reporting of her remarks and insisted in a tweet that “anyone who takes 10 seconds to watch what I actually said can clearly see that I never mention a stutter – didn’t even know he had one”.
On Saturday, a well-known voice fired back. Sullenberger, known as “Sully”, became famous in January 2009 after his airliner struck a flock of Canada geese but he managed to land it on the Hudson river, saving the lives of all 155 people onboard. In 2016, Clint Eastwood made the story into a film with Tom Hanks in the eponymous title role.

This was the plan to begin with to pretend he suffers from stuttering not dementia. Sulllenberger’s stock just went down way down.

He did very well. A lot of things went right too. Especially hitting the flock of geese that high (2,800’) and the speed to climb a few hundred feet more without power. Most of the geese I’ve seen in large numbers were probably flying half that high.
I remember reading years ago of a couple of pilots, that had just taken off at a Willmington airport (no passengers), and hit a flock of geese that flamed out their Learjet while still over airport property. They didn’t have the altitude to do anything but angle left a bit to aim for a backstreet just ahead. It landed flat, but hard enough to ram the main landing gear straight up through the wings. No fire as they scrambled out the half opened clamshell door, shouting with joy because they knew they had survived a nearly hopeless situation.
And?
And it’s not like Biden’s thoughts are so deep that he can trip over them.

What is Sully talking about? Slow Joe does not have a stuttering problem in as much as his dentures are failing him faster than his feeble little brain is.
See? Two can play that game, Sully.
His appearances come with a very strict List of Demands for the host. Like green M&M Rockstar kind of stuff. Charges 250 bucks a pop to Aviation fans so they can listen to him tell Tales of himself. He’s gotten a little full of himself.

Sully just threw away any respect I have for him as a man. Never one word about all the nasty things said about my President by every democrat in office. You may have just been a lucky SOB that you didn’t kill everybody on that flight.

My exact thought...this is first I’m hearing of this. So, maybe Lara was not mocking a stuttering problem but rather looking for Biden to express logical, factual comments vs a hodgepodge of words on unrelated issues.
I don’t remember Biden studdering when he was younger, and not making an ass of himself (as often). I guess it must have been ‘undiagnosed’ before. Yea, right.

I completely agree with you! Biden stumbles so badly during debates. To compare listen to him smugly bragging about “not getting the money” video. He has no trouble there.
And I also didn’t know until very recently that Biden suffered from a stutter in his younger years.
STILL these people can blow it out their you know what. Do they even hear themselves?! Do they think ever once to bash someone about the absolutely horrible things they say 24/7/365 about all the Trumps including a young boy Barron?! NO! That’s why they have zero credibility.
