The Marines were always the branch that recruited the youngest service members, LOL!

My FIL is a Marine and my Nephew (his Grandson) joined the Marines two years ago. You would’ve thought Big John had died and gone to Heaven he was so proud and happy! He’s well into his 80’s now, so I’m glad he got to see at least ONE Grandchild become a Marine. For some reason, while his sons were all toughened Farm Boys, none of them every joined up.

He loves me because even though I’m, ‘Only Army’ he ‘understands’ that it’s ONLY because they weren’t taking women in the Marines back when I served. ;)

Probably some truth in that observation.

I was waiting for the recruiter the day I turned 17 and about half my platoon at P.I. was 17!

Underage, oversexed teen age killers!!!.
