In thinking about this I came across a fairly recent article on Frank Schaeffer, son of Evangelical Christian writer, theologian Francis Schaeffer (Whatever Happened to the Human Race)

and Chris Buckley.....son of William F Buckley
All three sons have rejected their father’s life work/ ideas
I believe all three claim to be atheist now
A sad commentary
Agreed, but it’s not that unusual for prominent people to have rebellious offspring that take the opposite points of view.
