Well he died of brain cancer. Liberals are brain damaged, so I’ll blame it all on that.

Besides his incredible talent, I’ve always admired how Clapton is more than willing to share the stage and the limelight. I’ve seen him turn it over to up-and-coming 17-year-olds. I guess when you have it and you know it, you don’t have to jealously guard it.

I graduated HS in 1982.
We all wanted to play drums like ‘The Professor’ if you played drums.
If you say he was the best it just invites apple and orange arguments.
That always seems to be the case with musicians of notorious talent.

I say he was the best.

That video is a clinic, he even does the big band jazz style at the end and the people cheer.

He was good, but he’s not as good as Danny Carey.

Late in his life, he was taking lessons from Freddie Gruber. Neil was obviously already enormously respected long before then, but he wanted to go to an even higher level. Their brief discussion in Beyond the Lighted Stage is fascinating.

Wow, I didn’t know he was ill.

That may explain why he retired.

I always remember the Intro by “L’il Rush”:

A modern day warrior today’s Tom Sawyer
He floated down a river on a raft with a black guy

Losing a daughter can easily test your faith. Some can’t deal with it. Don’t blame them.

Starting with Permanent Waves, he pretty much stopped singing so wildly.

Sad. I won’t say “RIP” because Peart was an unrepentant atheist. One of history’s greatest drummers, though. My personal favorite.

We don’t know if he was an atheist on his deathbed.

I thought Van Halen was the best in the world. I’ve heard that before.
