In his exit from the University of Alabama, Tua Tagovailoa made one thing clear at the podium: there is still another Tagovailoa at the program.
With his brother pursuing the NFL Draft, Taulia Tagovailoa carries the mantle in fighting to be the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide.
Since the younger Tagovailoa thrives so much on competition, the idea of having his brother already at Alabama never deterred his decision to come.
His arm talent and his influence may not be at the elite level yet; however, his toughness is.
Tagovailoa played through injuries at Thompson High School (Alabaster, Ala.) and still tossed for 3,728 passing yards with 35 touchdowns in 2018, leading the Warriors to a Class 7A State Championship Game as a senior.
Taulia, like Tua, set passing records in high school and was a highly-touted quarterback in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
He threw his first career touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith versus Western Carolina last season and while Bryce Young is the name that fans are excited for, Galu Tagovailoa has one message for everyone.
As the father of two talented sons, he believes Taulia is about to step out of Tuas shadow and prove he can lead the program.
After seeing his eldest son announce his move on Monday, Christina Chambers of WBRC Fox 6 News caught up with Galu Tagovailoa.
It will be different not having his brother with him, but the patriarch said Taulia loves competition.
24 hours after @Tuaamann declared for the #NFLDraft, I caught up with the @dtagovailoa today ..Galu opens up about how @tauliaa12 is ready to compete for starting QB job at @AlabamaFTBL . pic.twitter.com/BchecxkEUO

The pocketbook is what it is about. He's already won a national college championship, the highest award.
Now, many worry that he may get injured during the additional year and not make it to the NFL at all.
As much as I'd like to see him do another year at Alabama and maybe win the Heisman Trophy, I understand and support his decision. If it were my son, I'd say, go to the NFL, NOW!
HAHAHA
Live in denial, that’s up to you.
And childish name calling.
Yep, a Bama “fan”.
Just can’t accept losing huh?
Sucks to be you. Kiss my ass.
Proof? Open your elephant eyes.
ONE loss to LSU since 2011...and you
can’t deal with it.
Again, sucks to be you.
My final words to you:RTWFU...look it up.
My, you sound triggered.
Again, show some proof. Oh, thats right, you cant.
LMAO, Bama has won Five National Championships since Sabans arrival, so why should I be mad?
Its hilarious how childish you corndogs have behaved ever since Saban arrived at Bama.
Let me give you an example, sweetie: Saban left LSU for The Dolphins, didnt like the NFL, then accepted the Bama job.
Steve Spurrier left Florida for the Redskins, didnt like the NFL, then accepted the South Carolina job.
I see absolutely no difference in those situations, yet the Florida fans behaved maturely while, OTOH, the swamp dwellers behaved violently and childishly.
Sucks to be you, snowflake.
Sadly with the NFL continually shooting itself in the foot running off fans and eventually losing advertisers, college players who could give their schools another year don’t anymore as the NFL may not have as much to give in future years.
NFL Players Union President Eric Winston: NFL Lockout 'Inevitable' For 2021
"NFL players union president and Cincinnati Bengals tackle Eric Winston is anticipating a lockout when the 10-year collective bargaining agreement expires in 2021, he told WCPO's Keenan Singleton."
Didn’t like the NFL?
More like he was run out of the NFL for doing a terrible job.
Nice bit of revisionism.
How’s that?
Samoans are crazy about rugby and American football......all depending where they live. If they live in NZ or Australia, obviously rugby.
Thanks
Propaganda videos.........they worked, I’m an Alabama fan now....LOL!
Young aspiring college athletes forsake their college education and go into the pros. Same in basketball. Not that the lot of them are necessarily educable though. Kind of destroys the spirit of amateur sports in my view.
LMAO! If anyone is doing the revisionism, its you.
Its well known that Saban wanted to draft Drew Brees, but the owners wanted Dante Culpepper. Bad decision. And I dont even follow the NFL.
In his heart, Saban is a College Football Coach. He loves recruiting and developing players. He also likes to be in control, which he wasnt in the National Felons League.
BTW, if Saban was a failure, then how do you describe Spurriers tenure with the Redskins? Hypocritical, much?
Nice try. Better luck next time.
Sounds like you want him to be some kind of God.
Great college coach. Not a God.
PS - Superior didn't do very well with the Redskins either.....as if I ever said he did.
Got it.
Don’t be ridiculous. Saban isn’t a god, just a coach.
But, he is a legendary coach. A legendary college coach, not a legendary NFL coach.
Some coaches thrive in the NFL, some thrive in NCAA College Football.
Happy now?
