I’m going with “major screwup by a low level Iranian” for now.
Something took out comms on the plane I’m guessing. If the pilots had radioed, wouldn’t we have picked it up? I’m thinking we would have.

No sauce, but I've read that the S2A missile the Iranians have works like a close proximity shotgun blast (see wreckage images) that aims for the cockpit. It's not an impact explosion as one would normally think for a missile.
