You are correct. Don’t like the constitution, then change it. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Problem is, the Founders did not define the term NBC in the Constitution, and Congress can only deal with Naturalized Citizens, so it would take a Constitutional Amendment, as far as I could tell from reading on the subject.

I know a lot of people think that as long as one parent is a US citizen, then the child should be considered an NBC. However, even the State Department Documents state that it is not certain that a child born overseas to 2 citizen parents is eligible to be president.

Lots of points pro and con. But the proper thing is to clarify it/amend constitution.

At least one citizen parent ON US SOIL, makes one a natural born citizen.

Research was done extensively years ago on FR with legal minds included in research people. It was clear what was meant originally, also with SCOTUS decisions from years ago.

NBC meant then, and there is no reason to change the mean because people forgot over time, jus soli and jus sanguinis; born on US soil and citizen parents, plural.
