Diets are like budgets sort of. Dont eat more than your body needs or foods that add a lot of empty calories. Eat a balanced diet, get some exercise and dont overdo either. I like carbs in my diet but they dont rule it.
I went on a 30 day diet. The food was so good I finished it in a week!

I’m a Keto Fan. BUT ALSO with Intermittent Fasting.
Keto-IF involves a keto diet with 1-3 days a week of limiting calories to under 600. This method reduces IGF-1, resolves Type2 Diabetes, improves all blood labs including total cholesterol, etc etc etc.
Other methods involve fasting for 15-18 hours a day and eating Keto or regular food in just a 6-8 hour window per day.
Still OTHER methods involve doing keto for 5-6 days a week and eating regular food 1-2 days.
Limiting carbs and the amount of time your body is involved in processing food is really good for a body - I am convinced.
Look up “autophagy” - the process where your body’s ability to dispose of old cells and produce new, healthy ones is unhampered by digestion, which uses more energy and resources than anything else in a body.
But yes - Keto is great for weight loss, and improved energy and focus.

Veges get chemically messed with by corporations. Beef and foul have to be sorted, to avoid Hormones and other injections and then you’re never quite sure you free of chems and hormones.
People are fainting over glutin, salt, etc., etc., and it is largely ridiculous, unless.you.are.diagonosed with need to avoid it.
Give it a few years and it’s all reversed.
Eat what we want, just shut our pie hole down and move around doing something else besides gobbing Excess in it.
No one should eat before they are hungry for 20 minutes, or so. Abstaining is good. Fasting is ancient and thought to be healthy.

The only ethnic group(s) that are known to be able to digest and thrive on a heavily fat based diet without longterm adverse health effects are the various inuit tribes (eskimos). Fast forward to the 21’st century where the most exercise people get is lifting groceries in from the car. For non-inuits, a high fat diet causes a dumping of bile and digestive enzymes that make a person feel satisfied, but the average persons’ bile reserves are limited, resulting in poor digestive efficiency, excessive wear on the bile producing organs, and oily stools. The ‘ketogenic’ part comes when your body realizes it’s starving and resorts to a secondary form of energy metabolism. If you want to lose weight, eat less and get more exercise.
I love it. I can “let go” over the holidays eating whatever I want, gain a few pounds without feeling guilty...and then go right back to a “diet” of full meals with meat and a couple of veggies. The few pounds I gained disappear in a week or less.
I have systemic lupus. Im on a meat and fat only diet As a result I am symptom free. Lupus isnt something which gets cured or even goes into remission, so this is as good as it gets. Most people dont understand the massive roll which carb-associated proteins play in autoimmune disease. Once the immune system sensitizes to a carb-associated protein and the tissue which it attaches to it never relaxes its attacks until the protein is removed.
Given that now we know diseases like type 2 diabetes, arthritis, autism and schizophrenia are autoimmune diseases, it seems incumbent that people not merely increase meat and fat intake, but cut out carb-related proteins as well, including dairy and eggs.

I tried the strict Keto last year for 4 months. I lost 17 pounds but had symptoms similar to high blood sugar. My sugar levels were good- but I would have spells of dizziness and wooziness my doctor said were caused by my body not getting enough carbs. I started doing “Lazy Keto” where I did not limit my carb intake as much. Felt better but did put a few pounds back on. Now I’m exercising more and adding more veggies and protein into my diet.
Keto is a highly effective short-term protocol for weight loss/fat loss. Better to do it by focusing on getting adequate protein, & to go easy on added fat. i.e. don’t dump butter in your coffee. Get your fats primarily from whole-food sources. Don’t freak out about gluconeogenesis by skimping on protein. Protein is key. Beware of the grifters doling out keto advice... Much of it is bad.
A semi-Keto diet has worked very well for my husband, including substantial weight loss, better A1C numbers and lower BP. I don’t see much change for me (I do like my wine at night, which may be the culprit). We have 3 Keto meals delivered every other week, which is helping us to know what we should be putting together for dinners. The main problem I have with those is the large amount of greens that are often included. I have even come around to accepting (even liking) the dreaded kale, but not a cup and a half of it plopped on my plate at one sitting.
It can be tough to find good choices for lunch. Green & veggie salads with chicken or tuna get tedious quickly, and don’t always travel well, and we end up throwing away pushed aside/spoiled food. But the other option is pretty much something in bread or a wrap. My part-time job often takes me to places with no access to a fridge or a way to heat up food, which is limiting as well. A nice thermos of soup made with bone broth is my best choice, but many times I’ll just chug a V-8 and eat cheese crackers (yes, I know!).
Being motivated isn’t the problem, it’s just tough to figure out what and how much to have, and how to stay out of the easy sandwich “rut”.
