Damn that Global Warming .... your warmth has been stolen by Greta.
48 in Phoenix right now
Yes but it’s a very very warming cold
my folks had a place in Gunnison, it gets very cold, I saw 30 below and the ice crystals in clear cold blue skies. Dad would say it would get cold with no wind or clouds and then a storm would blow in, go from 30 below to 20 degrees a 50 degree change in a matter of minutes
Was out in Utah when the Siberian Express came through in 1989?. Dropped to minus 54 in the Northeast part of the state. Drove across central Utah from Green River to Cedar city after the blizzard cleared in a rental car that we got in Vegas. It was minus 20 in Green River that morning and according to the rangers at Capitol Reef, it dropped to minus 35 at the nearby town of Loa that morning.
It was a beautiful drive, cobalt blue sky, snow-covered landscape, and very very cold. Almost no traffic on the two-lane road. Our motel room in Cedar City was so cold despite the heat on full blast that we had to sleep in our ski clothes.
When we got back to Vegas the temp had dropped into the teens killing most all of the palm trees. What a memorable drive that was!!
And it;s a bit nippy in Alaska also.

I once skydived from 12,000 feet with an OATemp of -40. I won’t do that again.
Hence global warming was changed to climate change so it can either way for them
66 at the Trebb condo this morning...gonna be in the low to mid 40s tomorrow....
Here at northern Mi cabin we are warm and toasty with about ten inches of snow outside. The greatest husband ever shoveled well after the first 6 yesterday.
Later today I will be working for double time.
I do love minus 5 with sun and a sweater. Have done minus 30s and minus 42 and it is weird. We generally get a week or so of them every Feb.
I focus on feeding the chickadees warm seed, sometimes by hand.
Ha ha. Nice try.
Wow. Some story, that is.
Colder than a witch’s t!t.
That is a moment when you realize true cold is deadly. No getting back in the plane.
Lived on the side of a hill there looking at Antero Res. for over twenty years. Trout Creek Pass was at the top of my hill, somewhere around 9500 ft. Would take Hwy 285 to Denver and watch the temp. drop a good 15 degrees as I went down Trout Creek. 500 ft difference in altitude there could mean a twenty degree difference. Antero is around 8900 and the cold air sinks like a rock there while my home was at 9250 ft, I never recorded a temp. below -24 degrees.
A very beautiful place in winter and the short summers.
I moved fairly close to your area, one year ago today (near Deckers) from Centennial. It’s beautiful but my days of wearing short pants year ‘round are over! Minus 5° as I type this.
Actually, the temperature right now, 5 minutes after midnight, is 80° It gets above 85° 365 days a year. Its hot everyday.
Horrid. Where do you live? I thought Nebraska....
