The Earthshot Prize, which was announced in a new film narrated by Sir David Attenborough, will encourage people and organizations to create new and innovative solutions to environmental problems. A statement from Kensington Palace referenced some of the crucial issues as being related to "climate and energy, nature and biodiversity, oceans, air pollution, and fresh water."

In a statement announcing the prize, William said, "The earth is at a tipping point and we face a stark choice: either we continue as we are and irreparably damage our planet or we remember our unique power as human beings and our continual ability to lead, innovate and problem-solve...

Hillary Clinton has pledged her support for the initiative and tweeted, "With Australia on fire and the Arctic in meltdown, it's clear we're in a climate emergency. I'm proud to support @EarthshotPrize from @KensingtonRoyal, a new effort to inspire Earth's greatest problem solvers to repair the natural world."

As they live in multiple castles, fly in private jets, ride in chauffeur driven limos.... What the HELL is THEIR carbon footprint???

I have noticed that people actually believe it is warmer now. I tell them 104 in the summer in the 1960s before we had AC was just as hot as 104 is now!

Also, they think it is carbon, not carbon dioxide. When I tell them, they are SHOCKED! They think it is black carbon like coal that is in the air!

WOW, excellent way to put it! I keep telling my husband that the leftists are such HYPOCRITES! I like the way you put it!

Look up Kate and Megan’s clothes and the prices! They spend more on a single hat than I have spent in the almost 70 years that I have been on earth.

Gore has no clue – a few million degrees here and there and pretty soon we’re talking about real temperature
Anthony Watts / November 16, 2009
This is mind blowing ignorance on the part of Al Gore. Gore in an 11/12/09 interview on NBC’s tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, speaking on geothermal energy, champion of slide show science, can’t even get the temperature of earth’s mantle right, claiming
“several million degrees” at “2 kilometers or so down”. Oh, and the “crust of the earth is hot” too.

The earth is HOTTER THAN THE SUN?????????????

And forest fires in California are NOT new events. The giant redwoods are 2 to 3 thousand years old and those seeds will not open up and germinate without a forest fire. So we know we have had forest fires for thousands of years!

This is like the 3rd time we lived in California. They were talking about the traffic and what was needed to ease the heavy traffic. They hired a VERY expensive company to come up with suggestions. Millions of dollars were spent. I said back then, we don’t need a multi million dollar plan, I think it was about $11million they spent,. (Did most of it end up in politicians pockets?)

I said we need more roads and more lanes!

They company came back with the new traffic plan.
They said we needed more roads and more lanes!

I think I should have received the prize!

They want us out of our cars but to go anywhere in LA it takes HOURS. Walk it? No public trans came anywhere near our condo.

We moved out of CA last May for a myriad of reasons, Family, Financial and Freedom.

Lived there for over 60 Years. Would be the best State in the Union if The Democrat Party was outlawed. Instead, Conservatives and Republicans there are treated like the Jews in 1938 Berlin.

In other words, they won, we lost.

If you are lucky enough to live in Claremont (California), you are lucky enough. That was my motto. But California is way too liberal and messed up. Lived in beautiful peaceful little Claremont 2012-2013. What a joy it is to live there. But we retired in 2014 and moved to TEXAS!

I wasn’t born in Texas but I got here as quickly as I could!

We lived in South Orange County, five minutes from Laguna Beach. Heaven on Earth, then the Rats took ALL the Orange County GOP House Seats in 2018.

I realized then that I was living amongst the deranged.

We lived in California five times. Our son is still out there, he’s 35 now. He admits that the state is CrAzY. But he has built a life there, being there since 2005. He was here recently and went bonkers over our gas prices, less than half what he pays. Plus we have no state income tax in Texas... We have ZERO homeless in the town we live in!!!!!

Lived in San Marino 1988-90. Pasadena in 1997. Claremont 2002. Rancho Cucamonga 2005-07. Claremont again 2012-13. People keep telling me that houses cost 4 times more in California. Quite simply NOT TRUE. I KNOW better, I lived in Cal many time. There are many super cheap areas in California. And for example, new homes in Temecula cost just about the same price as in our area here NW of Austin. And inside Austin you can pay a million for a tiny shack 600 s.f.

The billboard reads, at entrance to our new neighborhood, NW of Austin. New homes from $200K. Ours was more than 3 times that. IF you see a sign here around Austin that gives “starting home prices” be sure to multiply it by 3 or 4 times. Heck, our lot is valued at $200K now without a house on it. Maybe homes salesmen are as dishonest as car salesmen now.

I have Friends in Austin. One was Married to a Wealthy Doctor and they have a 4000 + SF Mansion on the Lake.

I’ll bet when he bought the House years ago he paid less than we sold our 2000 SF Cookie Cutter Home in Orange County.

Of course, in CA our Property Taxes were affordable thanks to Prop 13 which the Rats are attempting to dismantle piece by piece. From what I understand the Property Taxes in TX are pretty high since there is no Income Tax.
