That said, I was very careful to internally document my code as a matter of self preservation. If something had to be changed, I was the one who was going to do it.

Was in the U of Chicago systems group in 1967, and one of the most marvelous things about it (other than the woman who illuminated the card decks) was that comment mistakes were considered of the same level of importance as assembly coding mistakes.
