Accept reality. Fraternization is traitorous and won’t end well.
The reality is, we are all Americans. Some have drunk the koolaid, and some haven't. Some who have ingested the koolaid are friends and even family members. I prefer to engage with them as they're NOT enemies.
If I don't engage with them, they will view my inability to defend my position as a victory or worse: they will decide that my position is indefensible, and it will only serve to entrench their position.
Not everyone will I engage with. I try to pick my battles. For instance, I will almost NEVER engage at my place of business; there's simply no percentage in it.
You accept reality. Sometimes the people who question my political views are family members or colleagues. Anyway, I always like getting the best of smartasses.
