The True Story Behind Handel's 'Messiah' and the Day He Had a Vision of God in Heaven

The DH and I just watched a video called “Handel’s Messiah” on PBS that was a telling of how the oratorio came to be. We were pleasantly surprised at the religious explanations in the film. Seemed like there were more clergy discussing the work as there were music experts.

***After he wrote the "Hallelujah" chorus, Handel was quoted as saying, "I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself." . . . At the end of "Messiah," Handel wrote the letters "SDG" for Soli Deo Gloria, which means, "To God Alone the Glory.***

Nicely presented ssf and inspiring especially in this season.
