In the ‘Old Testament’ the genius critics devised 4 Authors of the Pentateuch. There was J, P, E, and D. That would be the Yahwist, the Priestly Writer, the Elohist, and the Deuteronomist.
They seemed particularly absorbed with Isaiah, and pronounced that the Book of Isaiah was written by at least two different persons, but possibly an unknown greater number equaling as many as 5, 6, or more.
The Higher Critics had devised a scheme for defining certain discrepancies which they could ‘prove’ existed in the Bible.
In the New Testament there were as well dissected texts which were determined to be constructed by different Writers. ‘Q’ was prominent but as well there were others.
