President Trump is said to be considering dropping out of the presidential campaign debates, per tweet, on the Liz Mei Crowley Twitter feed.
The POTUS is not pleased with the organizational arrangements, or something.

I hope he puts himself through no more BS, of that every Four Year s?!+ show, managed by and for the Anti-American Media Complex.

I won’t have him entertain the likes of Maddow and Don Lemon. Anna Navarro, Katy Tur, etc., beholden to being questioned by a firing squad of communists.

Ditch it, Mr. President. Stay with the tweets and we all win.

In 1964, Johnson refused to debate Goldwater because that would have given Goldwater both a platform and legitimacy. Johnson was so far ahead in the polls that he didn't even mention Goldwater's name in his campaign speeches.

In 1968, neither party wanted debates because it would have given Wallace legitimacy and an edge. Both parties feared he would throw the election into the House and set the civil rights movement back a generation.

In 1972, Nixon refused to debate McGovern for the same reasons that Johnson refused to debate Goldwater in 1964.

By ditching the debates in 2020, Trump would be signaling that the Democrat nominee was beneath contempt and not worth appearing on the same stage.
