Hillary Clinton dismissed rumors that she had engaged in lesbian affairs during an interview with shock jock Howard Stern on Wednesday, and now a prominent LGBTQ advocate is disappointed in the former secretary of state.
Never even been tempted, thank you very much, Clinton told Stern when asked if she had ever engaged in a lesbian affair.
Reporter Trish Bendix, who has won the 2015 Sarah Pettit Memorial Award for excellence in LGBT media and is a member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, didnt appreciate Clintons response to the question.
It's so frustrating when public figures like Hillary feel the need to dispel lesbian rumors in a way that equates lesbianism or queerness with salaciousness, and that's ultimately what I dislike about the way she phrased it, Bendix told NBC News.
Bendix said she was specifically bothered by Clintons use of the word tempted when shooting down Sterns question.
I think there's a way to refute untrue ideas about one's own identity without saying something damaging to others, Bendix said.
Media Research Center writer Gabriel Hays mocked the situation, writing that Clinton is not woke enough.
Tsk tsk, Hillary. The former presidential candidate is taking heat for her response to old rumors about her being a lesbian," Hays wrote. And while were not bashing her for her sexuality, its a hilarious predicament for the woman who fancies herself a de facto leader of the left.(snip)
She also explained that she was in love before meeting Bill Clinton and even detailed her first date with her future husband.
I dated a lot of different people and I liked a lot of them, she said of her past romances. I was pretty popular... boys were not my problem.

Odd that not a single guy who “dated” her before Bill has ever been heard from. After Bill, there’s Chelsea’s father Webb, Vince Foster, etc.
Disappointed? Maybe that’s the public statement, but privately, she’s thinking relieved.
LOL. That one picture is worth a thousand words. Its just a shame Stern did not have that picture available during the interview.
These people are rather sensitive it seems.
They are on high alert looking for something for which they can take offense.
She should have been offended by Hillary’s lie that she did not have an interest, not how she worded the lie. Jeez, these people are stupid,
She’s just pissing off everyone...
Or her with natalie portman!

Funny that she said people there, and not boys or men.
Yep.
Don't worry Trish. She's a lesbian. And a liar.

The way the Clinton’s parse words, the question should have been are you bi-sexual? If she goes both ways, she can deny being a lesbian.
More BS. How many of the early girlfriends or boyfriends of politicians or politicians wives can you name? They don't usually come out of the woodwork and if they do go public, nobody remembers their names. If you do a websearch, you can find the names of two guys who dated Hillary before Bill. If there weren't more, one reason why is that she went to a women's college.
Hillary does more carpet cleaning than Steamatic.
Hillary has never told the truth in her life. Why would that moment have been her first time ever in being truthful?
It’s so frustrating when public figures like Hillary feel the need to dispel lesbian rumors in a way that equates lesbianism or queerness with salaciousness, and that’s ultimately what I dislike about the way she phrased it, Bendix told NBC News.......................How many normal people don’t equate homosexuality with salaciousness?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Butch isn’t to be believed.
I find it hard to believe that Epstein didn’t provide women for Hillary.
