I kind of like the original version, too....
“We give our heads and our hearts to God and our country; one country, one language, one flag.”
Did you notice how they (History.com) say the later version was written by a ‘Christian socialist’?
Those two CERTAINLY don’t go together (at least in my book :). Maybe they mean a different meaning of socialist? Hmmmm...scratching my head...lol.
