That may be true, but don’t buy into this canard. Most of the people on the street want to be there. They do not want to follow the rules of society. They don’t want to work, they just want to do drugs or drink. Most are addicts &/or mental cases. They would not be there if laws were enforced.
Why is it the government’s job to build affordable housing? Did they build me an affordable house? If they are sane, why are they here if they cannot afford a place to live? Would you live on the street, or go to a place where there is a place you could afford rent?
It is ridiculous in Ca. we have Mobil home parks where Mobil homes are $350,000 I was just looking at them on Zillo today how ridiculous is that?? I mean the home does not sit on land you OWN, the home itself goes DOWN in value just like a car AND the space rent every month is $1000.000 on top of the payment for the home CA. is OUT OF CONTROL!!! People are FLEEING CA. everyone but the homeless are leaving!!!

We have places in our town that will take homeless but there can be no drug use, so they chose the cold.
I would take exception to the mentally ill. We used to keep them in safe housing, for societies sake and their sake. Unfortunately we just medicate them, they often don’t take their meds and can end up being very expensive when they keep returning to the emergency rooms or jail.
We really could do a better job in that area, preventive med would be to place them in a safe place, less costly and more humane.
