Look at it this way. The House is like a prosecutor. They bring the charges (impeachment) The Senate is like a Jury. They find if the charges warrant guilty or not. Once impeached, by the house, those charges are always there even if found to be exonerated by the senate.
Thanks.
Yes, a lot of people are confused but...
you are much mistaken by lumping us in that group.
we are not confused. we are way passed that in our discussion.
IMHO that is an aspect of the impeachment process that Pelosi and the democrats are banking on.
They know that an great number of voters are poorly informed and think that impeachment is tantamount to a conviction.
That is one (of many) reasons they wanted to get this impeachment on the record.
As they campaign against president Trump in 2020 they will constantly remind voters that he has been impeached,
knowing full well that statement will be widely misinterpreted as the president having been tried and convicted of actual wrongdoing.
Democrats didn't create this widespread lack of understanding for the purpose of misleading the ill-informed public about president Trump
but they sure won't hesitate to use it for that purpose to their advantage.
P.S. As a sidenote: For 45 years I have been amazed at the numbers of people who consider themselves to be informed yet eroniously believe that President Nixon
was impeached and found guilty of Watergate related crimes..
