“Representative Mark Meadows, a founder of the House Freedom Caucus and a leading House conservative, announced he will not seek another term in 2020.
After prayerful consideration and discussion with family, today Im announcing that my time serving Western North Carolina in Congress will come to a close at the end of this term, Meadows said in an statement issued by a spokesman Thursday morning.
Meadows is close with President Trump and speaks with him regularly. He said in his statement hell continue to work with the president.
My work with President Trump and his administration is only beginning, Meadows said. This President has accomplished incredible results for the country in just 3 years, and Im fully committed to staying in the fight with him and his team to build on those successes and deliver on his promises for the years to come. Ive always said Congress is a temporary job, but the fight to return Washington, D.C. to its rightful owner, We The People, has only just begun.
Meadows took office in January 2013 as part of a class of freshmen elected with the help of the Tea Party movement. For the past two years, he was chairman of the rebel Freedom Caucus, a faction of conservatives who frequently bucked the GOP leadership on spending and other key legislation in effort to make measures more conservative.”

100% Republican Vote. Thats what people are talking about. The Republicans are united like never before!
WHAT??? Mark Meadows is retiring? I’m shocked.
Sad news indeed. We need those active and solid members of the House Freedom Caucus.
But I love how he says that serving in Congress should be a temporary job. So many of them need to go, they just get rich destroying the country.
As sad as I am to see Mak Meadows go I think Trump has other plans for him, I think Trump has a position in the administration for him!! Maybe head of the FBI after he fires Wray???
Well, I certainly didnt see Rep Meadows retirement coming.
Praying hell be working closely with POTUS, in some new position.
Praying RNC has someone great lined up to run in his place.
Many other career Reps/Senators could take a clue from his gracious announcement.
Mark Meadows must be exhausted. He has been fighting so much for patriotic Americans. I am sorry to see him go but understand.
