Granny, I had something similar to your husband a couple of years ago. Dr. had me go to the ER and they put me in the hospital. They did tests to see if I had/having a heart attack and nothing showed up. Did chest x-rays to see if pneumonia. Nothing. Finally they had me do a breathing test and found I had slight emphasima. They sent me home with nitro (just in case) and an inhaler. Then I had to make an appt. with the lung doctor. He put me on Spriva respirmat (very expensive)but it does help me to breath better.
Have they done a breathing lung test on your hubby?

Great advice!
I just talked to him about this, he had a breathing test a couple of years ago and had no problems then but since he was an automotive machinist for several years with all the garbage floating in the air, that just might be a direction to take.
He said they just did a lung xray and his lungs were clean, would emphasima not show up?

Almost identical process. Determined by two specialist to be an adult onset disease similar to asthma. Turns out it was a life threatening vitamin D shortage. All, have your doctors test for vitamin D shortage, first. Its a cheap blood test that saves money and worry.
Most Doctors are clueless about nutrition.
