Thank you ma.
Love Christmas.
When I was a kid, I truly enjoyed it and always anxiously awaited Santa.
We never got much but we truly appreciated everything we got as Mom was a widow when I was 4 and I had 2 brothers and a sister. Very lean years but we made it.
God rest Mom’s soul.
We put baby Jesus away until Christmas day and grandson is so anxious to get him and put him in the stable.
Sweet!
Some moms just instinctively know how to make the littles acts traditions and joyful. When I got old enough to do crafts on my own mom & I made a Christmas tree every year. one year of feathers often pine cones with ribbons (Always had a small live tree in my room). Ive always loved to decorate Learned it from her.
There was always an elderly person that dad knew from working for the Welfare department that needed cheering up. Sometimes they werent even friends of the family. Just a lone person with no family. Wed load up the station wagon with my little tree, some fresh fruit and cookies if we had baked any..
And
drop by, sing a few carols and deliver our joy. Often staying awhile.
I remember one person in particular. Hed lost most of vision and asked daddy to read to him the Christmas Story from Luke. My dad had a wonderful expressive baritone speaking voice. I so miss his reading at Christmas
I was so blessed to have him till age 94
