Alarmists Propose Rebranding ‘Climate Change’ for Greater Shock Value
Breitbart ^ | Nov 29, 2019 | Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

Climate change alarmists are pushing for a change in vocabulary to scare people into taking global warming more seriously, starting with terms like “global meltdown” and “climate collapse.”

Writing for AdAge this week, Aaron Hall argues that in order to get people to “take action” against climate change, “rebranding” is crucial, since people have gotten too used to the idea that climate is changing and need to be shocked into the notion that the world as we know it is ending.

“Is there a better way to convey the urgency of the situation, while also encouraging folks to take action? Could the tools of branding and brand naming create a more resonant, powerful name?” Mr. Hall asks.

The Democratic members of Congress could show their commitment to the climate “collapse”, “crisis”—mass suicide accompanied by a ten volume manifesto should do the trick!

I know it would impress me. :-)

I remember when “branding” was not a part of the scientific method. That was long ago when a hypothesis could be disproved by contrary evidence.

With every breath those hypocrites are converting oxygen into CO2. What will happen when they tax the oil companies until only the rich can drive cars? They will continue to drive cars and fly jets while giving themselves raises with that tax money.

Years ago, there was a “Candid Camera” knockoff show that would set up situations then see how people would react to them. However, one time they went too far, and had to cancel their ‘prank’ before really angry people got violent.

It took place at a gas station, where the pumps were rigged so that *after* someone had pumped their gas regularly, and it was no longer flowing, the pump would continue to increment how much gas they were getting and how much it was costing.

For some reason, this hit a really painful nerve with a lot of people, and even small women were angry beyond belief and wanted to attack. Large men were in a blind fury.

It took a long time to settle the situation down, and the show had to pay the angry people thousands of dollars for the outrage. Many still wanted to fight.

The reason I mention this is that I think we should encourage radical environmentalists to go to gas stations, then as people are pumping gas, to push the pump lever stopping the flow of gas and ending the transaction.

I suspect that doing so will result in a bunch of radical environmentalists being put in the hospital.

Global warming was a flop. People reach for the snooze button when they hear climate change.

Now the ecosocialists have to go back and rebrand? Wonderful!

how about ‘climate dud’? Will that work? We have at the very least, 1007 more years left on earth- likely very many more years- but definitely 1007 more years- first the tribulation, then a 1000 year reign of Christ- there is no ‘crisis’, no ‘catastrophy’, no ‘emergency’

I never looked at it from the biblical standpoint Bob. You have a point based on the biblical timeline reference. :)
