>>>Misquoting the Scriptures to support your own hero’s immorality is not a good idea.<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That did not happen.

You might want to check out some scholarship (Christian!) on the subject:

http://jandyongenesis.blogspot.com/2009/04/moses-two-wives.html

EXCERPT:
Moses had two wives. His Kushite wife was his half-sister, as was Sarah to Abraham. The pattern of Moses’s family is identical to that of the rulers listed in Genesis 4, 5 and 11 and to that of Abraham’s father Terah and Samuel’s father Elkanah. One of the sons of Korah the Younger (Ishar’s son) was named Elkanah. This is the name of the prophet Samuel’s father who also had two wives.

1) I know of Zipporah; but I know of no other woman named in Scripture as his wife.
Is the Cushite/Kushite women explicitly described as his sister, or is that inference?

2) Abraham yes. Isaac and Jacob, no.

And generally, it is Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who are called the Patriarchs.

3) And even though Amnon *ahem* "knew" Tamar, I don't think that quite counts, as he drove her off right afterwards, they didn't ever cohabit, and Absalom later killed him for it. He wouldn't have been a Patriarch anyway.

Takeaway is, using rather sloppy language made it sound like a typical non-thinking atheist slur, in support of RAH...

I tend to be suspicious of sci-fi authors' sexuality anyway, given both Arthur C. Clarke, and Marian Zimmer Bradley (Q-ish accusations in regards to their activities, there, what?)

I'll put your archaelogy site on my ever burgeoning list of things to read; mayhap bounce it off other FReepers.
