Here’s a cool story about Trump that was sent to me.
forgive me for its length

This was on Facebook by the Dad of one of the players of the Little League World Series Champion team...from Louisiana...

I don’t typically do politics. However, today, I am. First off, last weekend was absolutely AMAZING! I got to witness first hand what we only, typically, hear about. The stories I heard from my son and his teammates of what went on inside the Oval Office of the President of the United States was unreal! The President was genuine, kind, selfless, caring and thoughtful.

There were three times that I got to witness President Donald J. Trump interacting with a group of 12 year olds when he didn’t have to. He had really done enough. He invited them to the White House. He brought them into the Oval Office. He spent quality time with them. Took pictures with each and with the team. His day was done. It was a once in a lifetime experience for my son and his teammates. Then, he took it one step further. He told his staff that they were bringing them to Louisiana on Air Force 1. And, to “make it happen”. Mind you, his flight was supposed to be leaving in an hour from Andrews Air Force Base. His staff did an AMAZING job getting everything coordinated and done. I have no idea how they were able to pull it off, but they certainly did.

Once there, we thought, this is going to be a very cool ride home and that would be it. We headed up the back stairs and found our seats on the plane. We then got a notice that the President wanted the boys on the tarmac when he arrived so he could greet them. Once he arrived he gestured over to them to “come here” after he stepped off of Marine 1. He gathered them together again, talked to them, shook their hands and led them up the steps on the front of the plane. Typically, only diplomats, dignitaries and government officials go up the front steps. Everyone else uses the back stairs. The flight was unexplainable. Being able to interact with flight attendants, who are also active military, secret service team, governmental staff, congressmen and senators on a personal level was extraordinary.

We then thought, this was cool, we’ll land, then be on our way home. Nope. The President wanted to mention and recognize each and every boy at his rally. But, before that happened, we got word that the President wanted the team to be the first ones off the front of the plane! Again, something that does not typically happen. While we, and other staff members, went off the back of the plane, our boys got to interact with the President of the United States again while waiting for the stairs to be brought up to the front of the plane and for the plane to be cleared. So cool! Again, at the rally, he recognized each boy and interacted with them again. For all the grief the position the office of the President of the United States gets, what transpired last Friday was something that I will never forget. He and his staff, genuinely enjoyed the boys’ company. There was absolutely nothing fake about this. Ok, ok, ok...the President was using it for political gain. Maybe so. However, there were MANY things that transpired that was FAR from political or political gain. Again, it was truly genuine. Every staff person I talked to said, this is “Typical Trump”. He genuinely cares about people. He wants what’s best for our country and is PROUD of the accomplishments of Americans. He was PROUD of our team. Proud to call them WORLD champions...even though it was in 12-year-old Little League baseball. It didn’t matter. He was proud of them. And, I, with my own eyes and ears, got to witness that. Not something that somebody told me or I heard about. I saw it. Take that for what it’s worth. I really don’t care about your political affiliation, or agenda, whether you like him, his strategies, or not. I’m just telling you what I witnessed. I’ve been around a lot of politicians, elected officials, etc. I typically can spot a fake or a phony. I can typically feel a vibe. No vibes. Just a good, hard-working, proud American. That’s it. For that, I say thank you! I cannot ever repay for the experience my son got to be a part of.

That’s a great tribute to a great man.

(I do wish, however, that the parents of those boys had taught them better manners. It was painful to hear those children say “yeah” instead of “Yes, sir” to the President.)
