I don't watch the NFL, and haven't long before the kneeling started, because it is nothing more than a bunch of criminal thugs for the most part. Many players have arrests records for all kinds of crimes. Domestic abuse arrest against girlfriends and wives seems to be common.
The NFL lost sight of the "sports" aspect of football a long time ago and focused on the baddest, meanest, thuggish badasses they could find to play havoc on the field.
I lost interest when it became so pervasive, it was like watching the nightly police plotter on the TV news.
Not a professional sport at all. Legalized violence and mayhem.
This is so easy to figure out its like black and white.
Rudolph does appear to try to take of Garretts Helmet first, but the kick allegation seems a bit much, that was after Garret was yanking him around by his facemask.... seems like a defensive move rather than an offensive one by that point.
Either way, nothing really surprising here.
I commend Garret for owning that he clearly lost his cool... he’ll get suspended, as will Pouncey for kicking Garret in the head afterwards.
On a previous thread, someone suggested ‘roid rage. I think that’s pretty close to the bullseye.
OJ: “I made a mistake; I lost my cool”
Hitting someone in the head with a helmet is one of the improvised weapons taught by the US Army as a way to kill on the battlefield.
Should be banned from NFL and should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
With the Browns’ reputation for dirtiness, and the over the top severity of his actions last night, I think he should be banned from the league. For life. End his career. The League needs to make a BOLD statement that NOTHING like this should ever happen again. Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.
The closest thing I can recall like this is when Albert Haynesworth of the Titans stomped on the head of a Cowboy player who did not have his helmet on. The Cowboy player ended up getting 30 stitches on his forehead. Haynesworth was suspended for five games. More recently, a player was suspended for 12 games for repeated violations. My guess is that Garrett will get a six game suspension, the remaining games on the Browns schedule.
Ok. Now GTFO.
Okay.
Speaking as a Non-NFL fan....
If he’s reacting in the moment about the other team’s guy trying to rip of HIS helmet and kicking HIM...
Shouldn’t both of them face degrees of sanctions?
If someone was trying to attack me I think reacting in the moment would mitigate actions.
Yes, both face sanctions....
...and now for a good while....you have lost your job!
An entire life can be overshadowed by an eight second event. Or a one second event.
If you watch this crap or even talk about it YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
The Steelers QB started this by trying to pull off Garrett’s helmet.
See here: https://youtu.be/eef-l5pcEIk?t=78
Based on this video view, I am on Garrett’s side.
Another black showing a lack of impulse control.
What can you do?
Nothing, because hes black.
The NFL is as pathetic as any other organization or company in todays climate of social retardation.
OJ chimed in “who started it?”
Glad Garrett didn’t possess any sharp objects.
