Walt Disney Company recently launched a new streaming service called Disney Plus and its been generating a surprising amount of interest in my social media timeline. Quite a few people I follow have been commenting on it, asking questions and (mostly) proclaiming what a great idea this is. I suppose if you have kids or are just a kid at heart theres a definite appeal.
But this is 2019, and not even something as simple as an old Disney classic cartoon feature can be trotted out without some sort of woke controversy. Apparently aware of the climate among social justice warriors out there, Disney has proactively decided to ward off complaints by adding warnings to many of their traditional features, letting viewers know that the content may contain outdated cultural depictions. Ooppps...Song of the South.
Disney’s streaming launch didn’t go so smoothly Lots of crashed servers, error messages and PO-ed customers.
Is there a trigger warning for the original “Star Wars” trilogy warning all the Imperial Officers speak with an English accent?
The first thing I thought of, I wonder what would happen if a Teacher showed it in Class?
Hippo Ballerina from "Fantasia" for offending fat people.
Apologies to Satan worshipers for depiction of Satan for the "Night on Bald Mountain" Fantasia piece.
The entire "Three Caballeros" movie is offensive to Latinos.
I’ve heard they have never released Song of the South on home video, or shown it on the Disney Channel, and hasn’t been in theaters in many decades. Disney management is so politically correct, that they refuse to acknowledge they had ever made this movie.
And the answer is...B.) Locked away forever.
That’s why the whole plot in the prequel trilogy that Yoda and the Jedis couldn’t figure out who the Sith master was because their force powers were “clouded by the Dark side” was so silly. They didn’t even need to use the Force, they could have just looked for the guy with the British accent!
Damn right!
The entire "Three Caballeros" movie is offensive to Latinos.
And don't forget about Chewie from Star Wars. Latinos don't look like Mooshell!!!!
Dumbo has big ears.
Obama has big ears.
Obama is black.
The movie Dumbo is racist!
Is it true in the remake of Cinderella she is loaded with Tat’s? Just askin’.
It has never bothered anyone when a movie offends s Christian.
Virtually every movie made before 1980 could be prefaced “Warning: Most Lead Actors are White and Speak English as Their Primary Language”
That is likely the one video that was actually “locked away in the Disney Vault, never to be seen again”.
We'll find Jimmy Hoffa before we see Song of the South again.
Sleeping Beauty was sexually assaulted(kissed) while drugged?
I remember seeing Song of the South at a Christmas party (when we could still call it a Christmas party) in elementary school. Imagine that!
