what an absolute jackass..31 yrs of marriage and that is how he ends it..a freakin email..geez what the heck is wrong with him Self-preservation. When it comes to these type of situations the confrontation is just not worth it. It is too easy for a woman to throw out a false accusation. If he broke up with her in person and the situation escalated , all would take would be for him to raise his voice slightly, for her to use that to get a restraining order. Seriously all the women has to do is break a fingernail while in the same room as a man and he can end up in jail.

If he broke up with her in person and the situation escalated..Well, I can't see anything here getting escalated, but - the Palins aren't exactly known for winning any couth and tact awards either. No velvet gloves here...lol

And for somebody who has lived with someone for decades, you have to assume he has some idea about whether she would take it well or not, and planned accordingly.
You're right. In today's legal climate, the only safe way to tell a woman something she does not want to hear, is from a distance and in writing, with a bcc to his lawyer.
