I dont recall anyone saying that women lose their worth; but many of us do lose our beauty - and a lot of that is due to developing sour temperaments. My wife is no longer the 20-something with perky breasts that I first met close to four decades ago. But she is chronically cheerful, and makes an effort to keep me happy, and that's what I care about at my age.
Some of the male desire for younger women comes from being biologically hard wired to be most interested in women who are still in their fertile years. And some comes from the feeling that younger women tend to not be as bitter, angry, and jaded as the older ones.

I know that when I meet women from some other countries - I'm thinking especially of women from India, South America, and Africa who are in my own current circle - they are almost always less hard and abrasive than many American women are.
And I'm not a man, so I'm not speaking from a male sexual perspective; it just seems from everyday interaction that these women are quite often more wise, warm, and engaging - and not just as companions for men, but even as friends for other females.

"the real question to ask is, what will we lose if we win?".
