If she is indeed someone who is a weathervane, this is still a good thing. It may mean that the other Republican politicians who move with the wind will also swing in the right direction. There will always be more politicians than statesmen. But a movement of politicians deciding that it’s more self-preserving to cooperate with Trump than to oppose him can be the basis of getting Trump’s agenda moving on Capitol Hill.
The Republican party (and the Republic itself) doesn't need more people who turn whatever way the wind blows. We need deep-rooted oak trees that will stand firmly in spite of it.
