Recently I took a good dose of soda water at bed time to reduce acid reflux at night. My dosage was about a teaspoon or two in some water. Omneprozole reduced the problem but not completely. I still had some reflux occasionally but the acid was gone

So far as I can tell, it did not affect my sodium level number

Serious clinical acid reflux and other upper gi disorders usually require 40mg doses of omeprazole. Adding a little sodium bicarbonate improves the absorption of the PPI.

Baking soda saved and restored my Dad’s kidneys...taken every day in the same dosage you use. He also had acid reflux and it reduced that problem too, now he doesn’t get it at all. The young doctor who was going to prescribe some new medication for the failing kidneys was originally skeptical the ‘old school’ stuff would be better than the meds but now he is a convert and ‘prescribes’ it for everyone.

I have the same stomach problem and am taking omeprazole on a daily basis.

While baking soda is a relief for excess stomach acid, even in the homeopathic world they warn against long term usage due to the sodium content.........
