“My ancestry is Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Denmark so I should have some Viking in there somewhere. :-)” You probably have a lot of Scandinavian blood. The Vikings raided the British Isles for hundreds of years then many decided to stay. They were absorbed into the population bringing their DNA with them. They were also in western Europe and that would include France. When the Norman Conquest came in 1066 the French brought some Viking DNA with them as well.
Yes, my DNA analysis came back with a majority British, then fine tuned to Wales; but, the second highest was "Scandanavian". When I told my husband that, his first remark was , "bloody Vikings".
I was so surprised by my results, as for my entire life I was told that I was German on both sides. When I got my results, my first question was, "who were these people"?
