Speaking of Tom the Son, he’s been sort of on the outs with his grandmother for a few years, due to her telling him in no uncertain terms that she expected him to have graduated from high school a long time ago, but it’s really my fault for having favored him, etc. (Control freak over 80 ...)
Anyway, she emailed yesterday to say that, if his additional roommate hadn’t turned up to pay a cut of the rent yet (he did), she would make a cash contribution to help Tom and Tucker keep a roof over their heads until the economy picks up again.
Well, the grandmother has her priorities right, and I’m sure she knew exactly what she was doing when she told him that.
As you probably already know, some kids need to be favored at certain times in their lives, and others need to be favored later. Or earlier. The point being, they all need to be favored just because they are who they are. And the favoring is different for each child.
And it is very kind of her for offering to help Tom.
