"The fact that socialists are openly running for public office in America that socialists actually hold public office in Congress should serve as enough wakeup call that the nations moral and political compasses are skewed, in dire need of correcting."

“For 50+ years the public schools have been little indoctrination centers...”
I recall in the early sixties, If you were caught with a piece of candy, gum, or other treat, the teacher would ask if you brought enough for everyone. When it turned out you hadn’t, you were not allowed to have any, either. Basically, your property was confiscated by the state. It wasn’t one teacher who used this methodology, it was all. It was like this idea was written in stone.
Never ... ever ... allow an 'educator' to be elected to the school boards ...
Your neighbors need to know that the school boards exist to represent the taxpayers ... very few people know this ...
yes ... this causes incest in their industry ...
In our area teachers who reside in one school district but work in another run in the school board elections where they live. Oh, and the voting is ONLY AT the school insuring great teacher turnout.
Public employee unions must be declared unconstitutional as a start. Then and only then can the swamp be dismantled.
The way to do this is a voucher program for private schools. Let the Parents use their tax money to send kids to religious education schools.
Religious education is way less tainted in some ways then political education boards.
But another thing that needs to happen is more insistence on freedom of exchange of ideas in University. The only way to really change academia is to insist that they cant shut out contrasting and competing ideas.
If conservatism is intellectually rigorous we have all the arguments on our side. Too often the problem is Liberals wanting to silence the voice of dissent.
I am skeptical about any plan that leaves government schools in existence.
I was Christopher Columbus in my fourth grade play.
My mother made me a floppy hat, but it kept falling down over my eyes.
What would you do? Changing the school system is not a quick or even easy task to accomplish. But since you are questioning her actions, what is your plan? It really doesn't matter, because any plan you come up with would be met with so much resistance it would never get implemented. It is another swamp almost as big as the Federal Government swamp.
But I am interested to hear what plan you think you could get enacted. Hey it might even work, but we won't know until we hear it. 8>)
BTW, I am not being critical of you, just asking you to examine what you think could & should be done and how to get it implemented, in the framework of a society that perceives itself to be a democratic society devoid of dictator like actors. I agree we need to take back our schools, that has been something I been saying for decades now. Nobody would listen, in fact they dismissed me as being overly dramatic. But when I think how to accomplish it, is where I run into problems of doing so. You see the leftists were very patient, and they have been changing it very slowly over a long period of time. Unfortunately we do not have the time they had. Had we started 20 years ago we might have been successful. But we didn't because we could not believe our teachers would do this to our children. Denial is not only a river in Africa.
I went to my son’s back to school night. Most all of the teachers are woke. His English teacher is blond/blue eyed and her very first bullet point of her PowerPoint was “It’s True! I’m 25% Spanish.” I guess no one ever told her Spaniards are white Europeans.
There is no reason a retired engineer/scientist (or one who just wanted to change careers!) should not be allowed to teach science/math in middle school to high school. Maybe require one or two years of probationary teaching before final certification.
And to take back America we MUST replace the mediaVOMITS!!!!! That is so crucial!!!!!
>
So I must ask again....just what in the hell has Betsy DeVos been doing to earn her paycheck over at DOE?
>
DeVos? 1st find me a NON-bureaucrat. Lastly, turn the attn. to the (R)N(C) whom has had the (supposed) elimination of the DoEd on their docket for FOURTY+ yrs. (while proudly passing NCLB & pushing for Common Core+)
People tend to forget that’s there’s a hole state\county\city component to the educational establishment that has to be contended with. You could do away with the entire federal Dept of Education and that local component would still be in the way. It has its own agenda & its own means of political influence. This includes the local/state/county teacher’s unions!
Public schools are a 19th century paradigm that outlived its usefulness in the early 21st century. Its primary functions now are free daycare in which children are indoctrinated because their parents sold themselves into indentured slavery.
We fight it by learning to live on one income and home schooling.
I have no issues with required training or certification if done without indoctrination. If step #1 is accomplished, step #2 is much more likely done without indoctrination.
Agree!
Yep conservatives dropped the ball on this. We did ok with conservative media especially radio, but schools we let the wackos take over.
One important step is exposure of the covert takeover started by people like John Dewey. In the 1890’s Dewey organized what became a mostly hidden subversion of our education system.
When Americans realize they’ve been invaded, they will fight.
A. Newman and Samuel Blumenfeld have documented some of this invasion in their book, “Crimes of the Educators.”
