Oh my....as a dedicated Francophile, your Parisian Carrots caught my eye......
a little round carrot.....a nineteenth-century French heirloom, an early orange-red carrot.
Grows almost more like the shape of a large radish. Excels in clay or rocky soil where
other carrots have problems developing properly.
Its flavor is legendary and is highly sought after by gourmet restaurants. (hat tip Urban Farmer)
You soon learn that they take the patience of Job to cut tops and bottoms of a bunch of them....
BUT they're delicious...I boil them, add butter and brown sugar.
Next year will also grow some regular carrots for fun....I can get 2 lbs for $1 at Aldi and they're from Canada. I use them in soups and stew so taste isn't a priority. They taste like....wait for it.....carrots! :-)
