I am a 65 year old woman, 5'4", 115 lbs. I run 6 miles every other day, eat a healthy diet, and lift weights twice a week. My cholesterol is 220 if I don't take statins. With them, I can get it slightly below 200. My "good" cholesterol is great but my Dr insists I keep taking Zocor. Would like to get off of it.

My husband's is 115 which sounds great but it actually bad. He is seriously depressed (bi-polar 2). Low cholesterol and depression are linked.

I am 73 years old and walk 3 miles a day with my little blue heeler Shadow. My doctor tried statins 15 years ago or so but I had a reaction to them. Over the years my doctor has changed and read the reviews that show that statins don’t provide any real good. The only meds I get from him are generic (20 yr old) blood pressure control meds.
