I was struck by this reading at Mass yesterday, from Habakkuk:
How long, O LORD? I cry for help
but you do not listen!
I cry out to you, Violence!
but you do not intervene.
Why do you let me see ruin;
why must I look at misery?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and clamorous discord.
Then the LORD answered me and said:
Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets,
so that one can read it readily.
For the vision still has its time,
presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint;
if it delays, wait for it,
it will surely come, it will not be late.
The rash one has no integrity;
but the just one, because of his faith, shall live.
.........
How long, O Lord, must we suffer these evildoers?

Thank you for his passage. There are three passages in the New Testament that refer to this passage. Many believe this is partial evidence that The Apostle Paul wrote the Book of Hebrews.
This passage from Romans
16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, The righteous shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17 (English Standard Version).
This passage from Galatians
15) We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;
16) yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:15-16 (English Standard Version)
And this passage from Hebrews
35) Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
36) For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
37) For,
Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay;
38)but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

I was struck by that reading, as well, and it reinforced my trust in The Plan.

Thank you for that priceless Scripture in this trying war of survival.
