On the contrary ... the fact they're still trying to impeach DESPITE Mueller's null result ... despite Trump's vastly stronger position (SCOTUS, economy, Senate, approval ratings, "Promises kept" etc.) than in 2017 simply proves how horribly dangerous this plot was back in 2017.
In my opinion, if RR hadn't set up the SC, and if the RATS hadn't been drawn into the cheese ... especially after he packed the team with RATS, then there is a good chance enough scumbag "Republicans" would have gone along in the House to impeach ... and maybe even convict in the Senate (though much less likely, unless they could generate a groundswell of public hysteria, which they had every intention of trying to do.)
Back in 2017, Trump wasn't ready for the fight. He didn't even have a loyal cabinet. He had Ryno leading the House, just salivating about a chance to be seen again as leader of the party. Even Pence was supposedly making contingency plans and "wondering" if his ship might have come in.
A smart general does not engage the enemy until ready to win, or at least conditions are as advantageous as possible. We are getting there now, and it is they who are panicking.
