Pelosi may be playing the long game....

Tired of fighting the nut job left wing of the party, give them what they want... Head into the election and get SLAUGHTERED up and down the ballot, just like 1972, and from the ashes arise with the far left wing’s power lost and move the part away from the edge.

Not a bad long game, though it will cause the Dems to get destroyed in the short term...

I don’t knwo if Pelosi is forward thinking enough for that or not.. but no other calculus makes any sense on this... Pelosi isn’t stupid, she knows Impeachment is political suicide in the short term.

The thought had occurred to me, as well. I've always tried to remember that especially in Washington D.C, things are never as they seem.
