I'm just wondering what happens after Trump is impeached by the Democrats. Can he still run for his second term?
US District Judge Alcee Hastings was impeached, convicted and removed from office, and now he is a member in good standing of the US House of Representatives. Barring from office is an option for the Senate--see post 18.
Personally, I like your 4.) which I interpret as Trump leads a military counter-coup, declares martial law, arrests all RATs in Congress and exiles them for life to the farthest reaches of GREENLAND.
Wasnt a Democrat judge impeached and convicted and still was elected to Congress.
Oops, no, youre right. Being barred from future office is at the discretion of the Senate.
[Democrats 2020: Just wait til 2024!]
Mayor Pete will be even gayer!!!
The poor muzzles will have to eat walrus or starve.
Oh, those poor, innocent walruses.
Why ruin Greenland?
Send them to Venezuela, Iran or Zimbabwe.
It’s paradise in those places for them anyways.
You beat me by 62 seconds.
Nothing wrong with your idea, FRiend.
But would Venezuela, Iran, or Zimbabwe take them?
The vote would go to the Senate, and since it’s Repub. majority, he won’t be impeached.
How about this one...could Pence select Trump as VP for the last year?
Then Pence resigns and Trump is President again.
Damn, such stupid talk. This is the crap the rat party talks about.
The house will not impeach President Trump. If pelosi was really serious, she would of had a house vote today to formally launch a inquiry of impeachment.
She did not. Today was nothing more than a talking point opportunity. Until the house votes to actually begin a official inquiry, this is all BS.
I’ve still got it!
Why isn’t Safe Sasse being challenged?
I have said yes let it happen, but I think the Democrats plan is to take him down legally by NY prosecution after impeaching.
Oh yeah. I forgot about the 2/3 thing. So, yeah, impossible.
I’m a Canadian, so I wasn’t too familiar with all the technicalities behind an impeachment vote.
[But would Venezuela, Iran, or Zimbabwe take them?]
We’ll sneak them in at night!
That is true, but not what I meant. I meant a person who has been convicted of a crime (not connected to public office and impeachment), and is in jail, can still run for office.
I think some minor candidates for President over the years have met that description. Beto isnt currently in jail, but has been convicted of crimes, and may yet end up behind bars again.
