America's best cities to live Drugmakers lobby hard to preserve their pricing power Click to expand President Trump confirmed Tuesday that he withheld military aid from Ukraine, saying he did so over his concerns that the United States was contributing more to Ukraine than European countries were.
My complaint has always been, and Id withhold again and Ill continue to withhold until such time as Europe and other nations contribute to Ukraine because theyre not doing it, Trump told reporters at the United Nations General Assembly.
Trump was responding to reporting by The Washington Post that Trump told his acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to hold back almost $400 million in military aid for at least a week before Trump spoke to the Ukrainian president.

On that call, Trump allegedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of former vice president and possible 2020 opponent, Joe Biden, according to an intelligence official whistleblower who reported the call to the intelligence agency inspector general. The Trump administration has blocked Congress from seeing the complaint.
Trump has suggested he did bring up Biden during the call, but has dismissed allegations of anything untoward. He told reporters there would likely be a readout of the call released.
Its nonsense, Trump said. When you see the call, when you see the readout of the call, which I assume youll see at some point, that call was perfect, it couldnt have been nicer.
Trump repeated his contention that Biden is the one who should be investigated. The president and his allies have accused Biden of pressuring Ukraine in 2016 to fire its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, to benefit his son.

Did I do it right?
Yesterday he said it was because of the corruption in the Ukrainian government. Changing his story isn't helping.
See the timeline below
No sillys. He was obviously witholding the money in an extortion scheme to get the goods on nuzzlin’ joe and his kid. No, really, I swear. The guy at the tire shop said his wife’s hair dresser heard a gal two chairs over saying her housekeeper had heard it from the waste management folks that...........
Aaargh let’s go overturn some cars and s—t!!!
Makes no difference another nothing burger for our President but will knock joe out of the race
There was probably a few reasons to hold back and get a clearer picture of who he was sending money too. Isn the point of electing representation of our country’s needs in the first place. As far as i’m concerned, he can negotiate with a foreign power however he sees fit.

I don't see these two answers as mutually exclusive. I can see withholding military aid because a) corruption is sapping the funds from the Ukraine that should go to defense and b)therefore the Ukraine isn't paying its fair share
Ima peach!
I can't find where he said that yesterday. Do you have a link?
But that's not what he's saying now. He's saying is withheld funds because Europe wasn't kicking in enough. Yesterday it was because of corruption.
“On that call, Trump allegedly asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of former vice president and possible 2020 opponent,”
So, the MSM and the democrat party wants to now impeach Trump for “allegedly.”
He actually said both previously.
You can have multiple conditions for withholding funds, Why would you think he changed his story? Are you a dope?
President Trump to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky:
“I am temporarily withholding military funds for two reasons:
1. I am in talks with our European Allies regarding paying their fair share of funds earmarked for Ukraine’s defense, and
2. I need to have assurances that the rampant corruption reported in the past has been addressed and is under control.”
Zelensky to President Trump:
“Mr. President, I understand but regarding assurances of our anti-corruption efforts, would that include the former US Vice-President and his son?”
But his complaint is now with the other European countries that arent contributing.
What did he expect Ukraine to do about that?
