I was reading some about the SWIFT group earlier. I got interrupted and didn’t finish it. I need to find the article again.
Seems like it could be a very big hammer that would have some serious implications if used.

Indeed it has been a big hammer. That’s why so many are trying to come up with an alternate system.
China wants to be part of the system, but will establish their own, if they have to.
Right now, China has big worries on the economic front, as well as the internal discontent - especially in Hong Kong. Chairman Xi seems to be channeling his inner Mao lately.
Hopefully, they’ll be set back a many many decades on their plans to be the reigning superpower.
