THAT is similar to what struck me, no further than I read!
The reason it was so striking is that “states” effect rather reversed the Founders unified agreements and turned priceless agreements on their head.
If I didn’t speed read myself into a corner to misunderstand, it was a point well taken and was one that could be applied to the identical tactical strategy used in the Roman Catholic Church.
The Pope was the pope, from the beginning, until obviously liberal forces found “progress” to be made by forming international Bishops Conferences (similar to states rights)!
The Progressive evolution was instantly in motion the driver being the time and patience it would take to bring the strategy to its conclusion, which guarantees to eventually change and liberalize the very faith, practices and influence of the Roman Catholic Church through no longer central command of the ancient Christian faith but a democratic forcefulness of these bishops conferences.
Balcanizing the Church has reaped its rewards, similar to greatly populated states doing their thing, understanding the by-product of state or conference actions will eventually foster dis-unity and change.
We sleeping at the wheel never seemed to see anything coming, because Education kept us elsewhere, just as Church catechesis became unserious about the faith and fluffy and self righteous in teaching more Social Justice. The Left stole our terms, because the Church put them up as collateral, imho.
Makes sense.
